Recording Facilities


 

  • Distance Education Classroom in Room G001 of McCarty Hall D
    The Distance Education Center in G001 McCarty Hall D has a room capacity of 89 and offers a lecture/conference hall setting with fixed-seat classroom style space for classes, seminars, interviews, and workshops. This classroom is fully supported for multimedia, video conferencing and recording, offering:
    • Mediasite streaming and video recording
    • Zoom videoconferencing
    • Computer assisted podium with 2 fixed microphones and 2 wireless instructor microphones
    • Overhead projector with remote
    • Lumens document camera (works like an overhead projector)
    • USB and HDMI connections for laptop or other device
    • Cameras for speakers and audience
    • Audience desktop microphones (participants push button to speak)

    To reserve the room, check availability on the calendar and fill out the classroom reservation request form, specifying if your class or event will use the computer/projector, videoconferencing (Zoom), and/or Mediasite recording.

    Note that room capacity is reduced while COVID-19 precautions are in place. 

  • Video Studio in Building 162

    The recording studio in Building 162 is available to faculty in UF/IFAS CALS or Extension to create content for courses or training programs. With green screen technology, you can can use PowerPoints, photographs, video or virtual sets in the background as you record a presentation. The room offers:

    • a studio video recording setting
    • greenscreen/bluescreen
    • overhead camera for tabletop demonstrations
    • simulated wet lab stand
    • digital microscope
    • lightboard

  • Sound Studio in Building 162 with 24/7 Access

    The Sound Studio in Building 162 offers self-service audio recording capabilities, including:

    • Professional grade microphone for voice recording
    • Articulate Studio ’13 software suite for narrated PowerPoint lectures
    • Articulate Storyline 3 software for interactive narrated lectures
    • Camtasia 9 screen recording software
    • Adobe Photoshop for image editing
    • Adobe Captivate screen recording software

    Check availability on the calendar and and fill out the services request form to reserve the room. After receiving a brief training on use of the room, after-hours access can be granted if needed. 

  • One-Button Studio in Building 162 with 24/7 Access

    The One-Button Studio in Building 162 offers self-service recording capabilities for short video recordings. There is a green screen available (requires post-production editing).

    Check availability on the calendar and fill out the services request form to reserve the room. After receiving a brief training on use of the room, after-hours access can be granted if needed. 

  • Room 3096 in McCarty Hall B for Mediasite recording assistance
    This classroom has moveable-seat classroom style space with a seating capacity of 45 and can be used for classes, seminars, interviews, and workshops. With limited support, it has multimedia, Mediasite and Zoom capabilities.
    • Mediasite streaming and video recording
    • Zoom videoconferencing
    • Computer assisted podium
    • Overhead projection screen
    • USB and HDMI connections for laptop or other device
    • Ceiling and lapel microphones for recording only
    • Portable hand-held microphone/speaker for room projection upon request (generally not needed)
