For the 2025-2026 academic year, CALS awarded $695,000 from 69 unique funds to 491 students.
CALS scholarship applications for the 2026-2027 academic year will be available by February 16, 2026 and will be due April 1, 2026.

- Are incoming students eligible?
Yes, incoming freshmen, transfer and graduate students are eligible to apply for CALS scholarships.
- How do I renew my scholarship?
Undergraduate scholarships are renewable so long as the recipient reapplys each academic year and maintains minimum GPA and full-time enrollment status in CALS.
- What is the minimum GPA required to receive a scholarship?
Nearly all scholarships awarded by the CALS Dean's Office require a minimum 3.0 GPA.
- How much money is awarded through these applications?
For the 2018-2019 academic year, CALS awarded nearly $570,000 to 419 students. On average, undergraduate students received $1,157 and graduate students received $2,159. Students selected to receive one or more scholarships receive a minimum of $1,000.
- What are the eligibility criteria?
Eligibility criteria varies depending on the scholarship. For most scholarships, eligibility is as follows:
- Minimum 3.0 UF GPA
- Full-time enrollment in a degree-seeking program in the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences
- Transient coursework does not count toward full-time status.
- Full-time enrollment is 12 hours for undergraduate students and 9 hours for graduate students.
- If you are graduating in a particular semester and require less than full-time enrollment to complete your degree, you may be granted an exception by the CALS Dean's Office.
- Students may be granted an exception if they have been approved for a reduced course load by the Disability Resource Center.

Undergraduate scholarship applications are evaluated by a faculty committee and scored on the following:
- Scholastic achievements, honors and awards
- Extracurricular activities
- Professional potential
- Scholarship
Graduate scholarship applications are evaluated by a faculty committee and scored on the following:
- Scholastic achievements, honors and awards
- Leadership activities, including service to department, college, UF or professional societies
- Teaching activities
- Scholarship in discipline (publications, posters and presentations, for example)
- Letters of recommendation
- Quality of research abstract
- Academic performance
Awards are made based on individual fund criteria and availability of funds.
- When will I find out if I received a scholarship?
Approximately ten freshman scholars will be notified prior to May 1. All other scholarship applicants will be notified of a decision by early August.

- What if I graduate in the fall semester?
Students who graduate in the fall semester may be eligible to receive the first half of their scholarship without full-time enrollment. They are not eligible to receive the second half of their scholarship as they will not be paying tuition for their current degree program in the following spring semester.
