CALS ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE INFORMATION AND OPPORTUNITIES

The University of Florida and technology company NVIDIA have announced a public-private partnership that will bring artificial intelligence to the forefront of the university’s technology programs. This partnership is central to UF’s future vision that includes an expansive plan to elevate its impact and reach in research, education, and economic development. This initiative will also create an AI-centric data center that houses the world’s fastest AI supercomputer in higher education.

This page outlines various ways in which the UF/IFAS College of Agricultural and Life Sciences is using AI to create a world of possibilities.

  • Faculty and Staff Artificial Intelligence Updates

CALS faculty and staff are making advancements within artificial intelligence. AI is being implemented across the curriculum to better understand data sets within agriculture, natural resources, and the life sciences.

CALS faculty and staff are encouraged to submit this form when they have new programs related to AI that should be added to the CALS, IFAS or UF AI webpages. All submissions will be reviewed by the CALS Dean's Office and posted to the appropriate sites.

  • UF/IFAS Artificial Intelligence

UF/IFAS leads the way with research efforts in artificial intelligence to create new, efficient and sustainable ways to feed the world. To better understand how UF/IFAS faculty and staff are utilizing AI in their research, visit the UF/IFAS Artificial Intelligence webpage.

  • AI Across the UF Curriculum

The University of Florida is dedicated to providing opportunities for all students to learn more about artificial intelligence, no matter the major or program. The university has new and enhanced majors that incorporate AI into their syllabuses.

The Certificate in AI Fundamentals and Applications is available to undergraduates. Students take two required three-credit courses, and one three-credit elective of their choosing. ALS 3200C AI in Agricultural and Life Sciences is an elective course offered within CALS that counts toward this certificate.
